What Happens During Ankle Fat Removal Surgery?
Before surgery, the surgeon marks the skin and any particular bulges while you are standing and photographs are also taken to record the pre-operative appearance. The surgeon will also mark the areas for the tiny incisions required for the introduction of local anaesthesia and the cannulae (tubes) used in the ankle fat removal procedure. These incisions will usually be placed around the lowest point in front of the ankle and then either side of the Achilles tendon at the back.
