What happens during a sleep test?
On the evening of your sleep test, you will arrive at our facility at approximately 9pm, depending on your usual bedtime. You will bring in a completed questionnaire about your sleeping habits, which we mail to you before the night of your study. Our Registered Polysomnographic Technologist will prepare you for the evening, including placing sensors on your head in order to monitor you during your sleep. During the night, factors such as snoring, limb movement, body position, oxygen levels, heart rate, breathing, and sleep stages are monitored. You will spend the night in our comfortable facility until the test is completed. In the morning, you will answer a brief questionnaire regarding how you slept. For your convenience, breakfast is also served.
