What happens during a Masonic funeral?
First of all, a Masonic funeral is a special funeral service for men who are members of the Freemasons. The Masonic funeral is a standard ritual, and the only variation in the service is the part about the Mason’s name and date of birth and death. The ritual is about 20 minutes long and done completely from memory. It is often attended by Masonic brothers who have actually never met the deceased. They will wear white gloves and aprons and speak about some symbols of the Masonry, mainly the Sprig of Acacia (symbol of eternal life) and the White Leather Apron (symbol of pure soul).
After the ritual is over, friends and family may pay their final respects. A Masonic funeral is a great honor to a man who was a Mason.
