What Happens During a Liposuction Procedure?
Steps of the procedure will vary slightly depending on which technique Dr. Gottlieb recommends for your liposuction procedure. During a tumescent liposuction surgery, or standard liposuction, Dr. Gottlieb will inject a tumescent fluid into the target area. This fluid consists of saline and anesthetic to numb the area and help stiffen up the cells. Dr. Gottlieb then breaks up and removes the fat with a long thin rod that suctions the fat out of the body. The incisions are carefully hidden in skin creases where possible.
