What happens during a cat behavior consultation?
Before your cat behavior consultation, you will receive a questionnaire (printed or by email) that you’ll fill out and return. If you are outside the Colorado Front Range area, we may request photos of the house and the cat to help us assess the situation. If the consultation is done in your home, Jackson will come over and spend the first few minutes just getting to know the home and the cat. Many times, environmental factors that may be contributing a particular cat behavior problem are discernable just from looking at the layout of the house. He’ll observe your cat: how she moves, how she reacts to him as a stranger, where she prefers to sit, and many other subtle clues. If there are multiple cats in the home, he will pay particular attention to their interactions: their body language around each other and apart, the places they hang out, territorial cues, and so on.
