What happens at Pregnancy Scans?
I was a bit worried until I saw my lil bub kicking and jumping inside.I think the first one is the most nerve racking because they always tell you that first 12 weeks are the riskiest and you don’t feel baby moving yet so you almost need a proof that you are pregnant. They did some measurements to confirm my dates, checked the heart rate,placenta, ovaries, and did the down syndrome test.I got 6 pictures and dvd. Afterwards I was very happy and emotional in the same time and could barely wait for my 18 weeks scan.Good luck to you, I’m sure you’ll feel better as soon as you see your little bub in there.Have a nice pregnancy!!
First Congrats on the pregnancy it has its up and its downs trust me i can tell you and I am so glad I only have 5 weeks to go or there abouts Well firstly they normally ask you to confirm the last day of your menstrual cycle and then they tell you what is going to happen. They put a little gell on your stomach (some hospitals warm the gell first which is a nice sensation) and then show you your baby, they then measure the circumference of the head to roughly work out the fetes age and then work out a due date which you will find will be different from what the midwife and the doctors come up with lol. Its a weird feeling knowing that what you see on screen is inside you tummy, I had 2 scans 1 at 12 weeks and 1 at 20 weeks and the one at 20 weeks was far better because he looked more like a baby. Don’t be scared or nervous you will be fab and enjoy every minute of it because very shortly he/she will be kicking lumps out of you and making you pee all the time lol.
