What happens at night/in winter/on cloudy or rainy days ?
Technological advances mean that to power a Solar System, you only need daylight – not sunlight. This means that you can still generate electricity, even on a cloudy day. If during the day you generate more electricity than you need, this excess will flow out of your home and back in to the main electricity grid. Although Solar PV panels will tend to generate more electricity on bright days than when it’s overcast, your Solar System will still generate electricity even on a cloudy day.
