What happens at lunchtime?
We operate a sit and eat policy, each child is requested to eat their lunch and usually then vacate to rest area where simple games are played and/or watch TV whilst food is sufficiently digested. My son/daughter does not play sport…We actively encourage all participants of all abilities to join in and be part of the sessions, Our ethos is that sport is FUN and never attach any pressure of our sessions being anything but FUN. We dont see the sessions as just being sport, The sessions involve both physical activity, sport and fitness but most important is FUN,FUN,FUN! We aim to break the barriers…
Lunch is from 12.35-1.20pm. Hot meals are available to purchase at the lunch hall or children may bring a packed lunch (or children may go home for lunch). As the Primary 1s will be at school all day right from the start, we suggest that they should initially bring a packed lunch to eat. This will enable them to get used to being at school before also having to deal with going to the lunch hall. Parents sometimes wish to collect them to go home for lunch but this could unsettle them for the first few days when they realise that they have to come back in the afternoon! This is only a suggestion and it is of course up to individual families. The children are supervised in the lunch hall, classroom and playground at lunchtime. At registration each morning, your child’s teacher will ask what he or she plans to do, so that we know if children are to be collected at lunchtime. You may change lunch plans on a daily basis as there is not need to book a school lunch in advance. The dinner ladie
