First, don’t panic. When you are thirteen, a physical exam isn’t much more than making sure your body is working normally. You are probably thinking of the exam women get when they are around 18, or are think of being or are sexualy active. This exam is called a Gynecological exam. At one of these exams, here is what happens. The first thing that usually happens during your annual exam is getting checks of your blood pressure, weight, pulse, and often urine. Be prepared to give the nurse the date of your last period — this is the date of the first day of your last period. Also go over any concerns that you want to discuss with the doctor.
