What happens at a Mormon wedding not in the Temple?

There won’t be all the fancy decorations, especially no candles. Just don’t wear sleeveless, I guess. The main thing at an LDS wedding is, to meld the wedding with teaching the gospel. They did this at my SIL’s wedding and it worked great! (BTW, her train was so long, it was still out in the foyer while she was getting married!) BTW, it IS a Christian ceremony. Just not traditional.

Outside the temple… there are no restrictions, it’s totally up to you. I was married at the church, my dress had spaghetti straps and was very low in the back. I don’t think my first ceremony was any different than any typical wedding outside the temple. We were sealed 5 years later… The temple wedding is totally different and 100% better, after all, it’s the one that is going to last for all eternity. **Really try and make it there in a year – it’s SO worth it!
