You can use the soap down to a little sliver even with the contact plate. After the soap gets really small, let it dry out and use a round tip knife to pry out the soap from the inside of the contact plate. When the soap is dry it comes out very easily. You are now ready to insert the contact plate into another bar of soap. Enjoy!
