What happens after I submit my Mentoree Questionnaire?
This is a frequent question deserving of a detailed answer. We close the mentoring database when we reach approximately 35 mentoree applicants. Three weeks before the scheduled two-day mandatory training/shadowing experience, a number of things happen. First we close the mentor database, then the Mentoring Team reviews all the mentoree applications. Mentoring applications are prioritized, if applicable, by employment status in order of Permanent, SCEP, Term Appointments and STEP students. Federal contract employees are not eligible for the self-directed program. Furthermore, a suitable mentor must be available. If you are not selected for the 1-year guided program you will be contacted by the mentoring program to discuss other options.
