The selection of members for CASAC and the Council follows a similar process. The SAB Staff Office reviews qualifications of nominees to assess whether they have the scientific education, training, and experience to evaluate basic and applied science issues addressed by the advisory committees. The Staff Office looks for nominees who have distinguished themselves professionally and who will be available to invest the time and effort in providing advice and recommendations to EPA. The Staff Office consults with the Agency and current members of the SAB, CASAC and Council in this process.
