What happens after a motor carrier begins operations as a new entrant?
After being issued a Florida DOT number, intrastate motor carriers are required to attend a New Entrant Seminar within 180 days from the date of issuance. These New Entrant Seminars are free. Failure to attend a New Entrant Safety Seminar within 180 days shall subject your company to a Compliance Review of your transportation operations to determine compliance with the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations, applicable Hazardous Materials Regulations, and related record-keeping requirements. Penalties may be assessed for violations that are found.
