If the lady reports to her insurers, they will be looking to you to pay for the repairs. Normally when this happens you give them your insurer’s details and they claim off them directly. There is nothing to prevent you paying her insurers yourself if you can afford it. Or you can come to an agreement with the lady that she doesn’t raise a claim with her insurance but instead you pay her repair bill yourself. Be careful if you do this, and insist on several quotes. You should report the incident to your own insurers “for information only” at this stage; it won’t affect your premiums or NCB unless they have to pay out.
