What happens after 365 days of forwarding?
After the forward expires at the end of 365 days, the postal service will return the mail to the sender and notify them of your new address by placing a yellow sticker on the mail piece. This will occur for a period of 6 months. At the end of this 6 month return period, the change of address order is expired and will no longer be kept on file. Mail will either be delivered as addressed or returned to the sender as “Unable to Forward”. By this time it is expected that your mailers would have your new address.
