What happens about custom clearance in the country of destination?
If the move is to an EU country then there is no customs procedure. If the move is to a country outside the EU, then the Cadogan Tate partner at the destination country will provide the customs forms to be completed. It is usual for you to be required in person at the destination at the time of the arrival of your goods, to present your passport to the local customs office. At this time you will also need to have ‘ entitlement to reside’; have a residence visa; or be a National of the destination country. In the USA, a photocopy of the principle passport page will be required. It’s wise to build in time flexibility for customs clearance. We will provide the required inventory for the consignment.
