What happened with the Sudanese refugees that made it through Egypt into Israel?
The last I read of the refugees was in the Jerusalem Post; those who made it were fighting to be able to stay in Israel. Some are living on a kibbutz and others are being held in prisons awaiting a decision. I’ve not heard anything about them being given house or other assistance other than some kibbutzim have taken several of them in. Fortunately, they have people like Elie Wiesel fighting on their side, so hopefully it all works out well. However, the Sudan and Israel are enemy states, and the refugees are not Jewish, thus there has been quite a bit of resistance in allowing them to stay. Lets all hope the situation in the Sudan comes to a point where there are no more refugees, but in the meantime it is very important to offer any help possible! Hope I answered your question!
