What happened to world stock market today?
Its complicated, and I don’t really think there is one set answer. A combination of factors made it attractive for people to take money out of the markets today – the “fundamental” angle is bad news out of China, reminders of instability in Afghanistan, and poor economic data in America caused the sell-off, and the “technical” reason is that the market was overbought and due for a correction. Some combination of those factors, human emotion, and random chance caused what we saw. One day with a 3% decline doesn’t mean much, but if it continues things will be much more interesting from a buying standpoint.
