What happened to the “regular” chemistry and biochemistry degrees?

Starting with the 2008 catalog, the non-ACS-certified degrees in chemistry and biochemistry offered by the department will no longer be offered. Students who started prior to 2008 may still follow the prior catalogs and earn these degrees. Students who started after fall 2008, will either earn the ACS-certified degrees or the pre-health track. Students should note that there is only one additional class required to earn the ACS-certified degrees in the 2008 catalog compared to the non-ACS-certified degrees in the 2006-2008 catalog. Students can choose to use the new catalog in order to earn the more prestigious ACS-certified degree.
