On November 1, 2009, ADAMS was ten years old and while Citrix-based PARS has served the information needs of the public well, we needed to move to the next platform. While we are working on this move, the NRC has to provide the public with a stable interim search tool while the migration to the new system takes place next year. This is an initial step in the development of the ECM system. We replaced the old Citrix-based PARS with a new Web-based system called ADAMS PUBLIC. (The original Web-based system is still available for searching.) This is being done in order to control the vast amounts of data (there are well over 520,000 documents in PARS not to mention 2 million citations in the Public Legacy Library) the agency has started the Enterprise Content Management program.
