What happened to the next servicing mission to Hubble?
Servicing Mission 4, the next scheduled flight of the space shuttle to the Hubble Space Telescope, has been approved by NASA. NASA Administrator Mike Griffin announced the decision to repair and upgrade Hubble on Oct. 31, 2006. Over a series of five spacewalks, astronauts will perform maintenance work and install two instruments, the Cosmic Origins Spectrograph (COS) and Wide Field Camera 3 (WFC3). The mission will take place in early 2009. For more information, visit our Servicing Mission 4 page.
