The NBA has said it doesn’t want to expand — it already has 30 teams — and there are cities with bona fide arenas (San Jose, Kansas City) that have informed the league of their desire. Bellevue or Renton would have to: 1) build an arena or formulate a plan for an arena; and 2) come to the new ownership with a deal that entices them to stay in the Seattle area.
