What happened to taking marriage vows seriously?
When did marriage vows become, “I promise to like you a lot, until I get bored, or if I hear you might be looking at this random chick, or until I find someone else?” You shouldn’t be getting married unless you feel you are able to work through fire and brimstone with your partner. I mean yall should be picking out side by side headstones. My parents were married for 30 years and it wasn’t a walk in the park by a long shot. But, they worked through it. Why are generation X and Y such quitters? I mean they dated a total of three years before they were married. One would think that is a long enough time to build a foundation with someone strong enough to at least work through any issues encontered during the marriage. For some reason, I really had faith in Kelis and Nas as a Hollywood couple. They seemed to have a strong background and weren’t completely wrapped up in media coverage of their relationship.
