What Happened To Table 8 at The Z Hotel South Beach?
Even though the Z Ocean Hotel South Beach seems to be sticking with this current name (the hotel used to be known as the Regent, The Vincci and the De Soleil), there is still more upheaval going on for the property. A venerable Miami tipster pointed us to the dining section of the hotel’s website where Table 8 is not listed at all, only two new restaurants “coming soon.” It was, however, still listed on the Table 8 restaurants site. But when we hit up the resto’s Open Table listing, it said the restaurant was “Currently Unavailable.” Hmmm…. In doing some cursory research, we found this article which said that Table 8 has filed for bankruptcy and decided to close down their weakest shop, which was at the Z Ocean Hotel. The 8oz. Burger Bar spin-off on Alton Road still remains. We’re guessing that a restaurant located inside a restaurant that kept changing management companies and names, never really had a fair shot. We’ll keep you posted on whatever new restaurant ends up going inside
