Yes, I think it’s been at least 20-30 years since we got a better idea of how to pronounce the city’s name. This happened when the Chinese started using different letters to represent sounds (keep in mind their language uses symbols, not letters). Anyway, the name has always been what it is; just our way of representing it on paper has changed.
