What happened to medieval knights?
Over the years the knights slowly disappeared to the state they are now strictly a title of honor with no real power. The thing that brought the knight’s era to an end was technology and this moved in stages. The first weakening was the invention of the crossbow and later the arbalest (which was a very powerful crossbow) these weapons could be used by someone with very little training and they were powerful enough to stab through the best armour of a knight. By 1500, most of the knights lived peacefully on their manors.
