According to the Krispy Kreme Doughnuts Web site, the company saw a net loss of $5.9 million in the third quarter of 2009, compared to a net loss of $798,000 in the third quarter of 2008. Overall, the company saw a yearly net loss of $4.1 million compared to a loss of $67.1 million last year.
