Rachel stated (early in The Last One, part 1) that Emma was staying with Rachel’s mother, and would be brought to France after Rachel had a chance to settle in. I’m not sure why I get this question so much. Maybe this line got cut for time in the syndicated reruns. The final 2-part episodes did go slightly over an hour, which means to fit it into two 30 minute slots they would have had to cut out more than usual (they always cut a little in syndication).
