What happened to Asia Business Now?
A. It’s not clear, exactly. For some reason, WNN is not able to use the needed satellite time to get the Nikkei index or the broader-based Topix index (http://www.tse.or.jp/xe/edef.html for the Java-enabled; http://www.tse.or.jp/eindex.html for the rest of us) or important news like advance word of the Tamagotchi manufactured craze. The best hints anyone is able to gather from the outside indicate that some sort of ABC-NHK spat has resulted in WNN being told it can’t play with Okito and Hiro anymore. The last night did go out in definitive style, mind you, with such awesome acts of closure as Hiro smiling (slightly). While ABN may come back someday, if we’re lucky, there is nothing less than exemplary in its departure.
