NEW YORK — It was train wreck TV Monday night as comedian Artie Lange of The Howard Stern Show took over the maiden taping of HBO’s new show, Joe Buck Live. Lange unleashed a barrage of obscene and homophobic jokes about Buck and Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo, while calling singer Jessica Simpson a “fat chick” who resembles the late Saturday Night Live comic Chris Farley. JOE BUCK LIVE: Announcer turns to comedy in HBO show At the end of the live taping in Manhattan, Buck thanked Lange for putting an end to his show after one episode. Fellow guest Michael Irvin grabbed the microphone and joked: “It’s refreshing to see white-on white crime.” The show is sure to draw comparisons to author Buzz Bissinger’s tirade against bloggers during a live episode of Costas Now last year. Joe Buck, HBO respond to wild Artie Lange appearance. NEW YORK — Artie Lange began his assault in the green room. It was 30 minutes before his segment on Joe Buck Live at the Equitable Center Theater in midtown Manhattan and Lange was searching for victims. First up was Brett Favre. During Buck’s opening segment with the retired-for-the-moment quarterback, Lange offered a critique of Favre’ s comic timing: “Hey, it’s Brett Dangerfield,” Lange said. When William Bastone, editor of TheSmokingGun.com, appeared on camera for a taped segment, Lange declared, “Now I know what he looks like. Don’t ever sleep, Bastone!” Lange laughed hysterically at Yankee pitcher Joba Chamberlain’s DUI arrest video and joked with an HBO producer moments before going on the air, “Do you have any blow?” Sources: http://sportsillustrated.cnn.c
