What happened during Prohibition? Did the supply of alcohol stop?
NO! The Mafia gained their wealth and power from the control and supply of alcohol – just as people are making their wealth from the control and supply of drugs. The drugs are often not pure and are mixed with substances making them more dangerous or as with Skunk the plants are cross propagated making it far worse than pure plant. When things are legal you can control and tax them and just as with cigarettes, the tax can then be used to support the NHS and treatments related to drug use, education and prevention. I work in Mental Health and I am well aware of the related risks but clients I have met in the past have reported that they use cannabis as a means of alliviating the effects of their mental health problems – and there has never been any evidence that the person would not have suffered from Mental Health problems if they had not have used cannabis. I think it is time for open minded, factual debate. PS I do not drink, smoke or take illicit drugs but I do care about my fellow
