South Africa became the rainbow nation, where everyone got along as if nothing had ever happened. WAAHAHAAA!! ok seriously, they changed all laws that discriminated according to skin color, they re-wrote the consitution (and handed out copies by the millions), they intoduced a few schemes where black families could buy back land that had been theirs and was taken, and most importantly they introduced affirmative action- in this scheme, a company had to have a certain percentage of black and coloured (our word for half black and not derogatory) people. This has caused a lot of problems, as companies often cannot choose the best man for the job (white people are more likely to be educated)… but it’s spreding the money into the black community like wildfire, which is great, and hopefully their children will be educated, and companies can be as efficient as before but employing blacks and whites.
