What happened after that bit with the Energy Liger where the US airing cuts off?
Much like GF’s “Final Four” dubbing issue made for an artificially huge cliffhanger with rather boring resolution (Van shoots a bit, Thomas is fine), that episode was never meant to be a big Oh Shit moment so much as a blatant mid-show upgrade trigger for Blake (and thus RD). Spoilers ahead, then: The Matrix Dragon and BuF are trashed, and the Energy Liger roars some at RD before leaving. He assumes it’s the Alpha Zoid and both he and Blake chase it on and off while the rest of the plot unfolds. Not-surprise, the Energy Liger is actually the pet project of one of the main villain’s scientists. Like many such pet projects, it’s destroyed when the scientist gets disgruntled and turns it against RD and Blake, who team up and take it down.
