What happend at chernobyl 1986?
Basically, there was a very large explosion in one of the reactors at the nuclear power plant (Chernobyl) in the Ukraine. The explosion led to large amounts of radiation being released into the atmosphere – some as a gas, some as solid particles. This then fell on surrounding areas and also affected many other countries across Europe and the world. It was 400 times more powerful than the Hiroshima bomb.
