What grass grows green all winter?
A. Rye grass or fescue. The most common winter grass used is rye. It is grown by “over seeding” the primary turf in September. It will grow green all winter and die out when temps. Reach and stay in the 90’s. Fescue can be used the same way but not as popular. It is sometimes used in very shady areas where no other grass will grow. It works but does not do well in 90-degree temps.
