What graphic formats are best suited to the Internet?

0

The majority of images on the Internet will be either GIF or JPG. Each of these formats have there own characteristics. GIF is a good format for buttons, banners, text images. Actually any image that has areas of solid color within the image. These types of images are highly compressable in GIF format. On the other hand, if you need photographic images (images with few, if any, areas of with same colors residing in adjacent pixels), JPG will work best. Images can be compressed, but be carefully doing this. Not only will the image lose quality, the image will load fairly slowly.
