PicturePointâ„¢ accepts pictures that are formatted as either JPEG or bitmap (BMP) graphic file types. JPEG (Joint Photographic Experts Group) pictures typically have a naming convention where the extension is “jpg” (as in “myhouse.jpg”.) JPEG is the Internet standard format for digital pictures. JPEG files can be uploaded from both Internet Explorer and Netscape. Bitmaps use a file name where the extension is “bmp” (as in myhouse.bmp) which is used to indicate the DOS and Windows graphics file format. Bitmap is the default picture file format for the Windows operating system. Bitmap files can be uploaded from Internet Explorer only.
