What granted are available from the Task Force?

0

The Task Force on Indigent Defense has two types of grants. First, Formula Grants provide money to counties based on a formula set by the Task Force. The current formula makes all counties eligible for a $5,000 “floor” plus the county’s percent of the State of Texas’ population multiplied by the remaining funds set aside by the Task Force for these purposes. Other formulas may be considered in the future as more data becomes available. Second, Discretionary Grants are used to encourage programs that support the purposes and goals of the Task Force. These funds are awarded at the discretion of the Task Force for specific programs or purchases that meet criteria established by the Task Force. Discretionary Grants are competitive.
