WHAT GRAIN FLOW RATES CAN BE TREATED WITH THE G3?

0

A. -The G3 was developed to work with 6 or 7 inch auger flow rates. The range of best distribution accuracy is between 17 and 25 bushels per minute of corn or barley, or 15 to 22 bushels per minute of wheat, barley, oats or rice. Outside this range distribution accuracy drops off. As with any machine, it will operate outside it’s optimal range, but won’t do quite as good a job. Pulse or cotton treating requires a higher application rate, with slower flows, to get complete seed coverage, and remove the need for secondary mixing. Thus pulses and cotton are best treated at 16-20 bushels per minute (960 – 1,200 bu./hr.) If the grain flow through the G3 is reduced below 14 bushels per minute, the chemical rates becomes so low the spray pattern is lost, and seed coverage is reduced. Also treating chemical will penetrate the grain curtain, and run down the inner wall of the treater, causing a mess. Grain flows over 28 bushels per minute are so dense that treatment droplets are prevented getti
