What graduate business schools require students to buy a specified laptop when they matriculate?
Graduate school programs in business have computer policies really run the gamut from a simple set of recommendations all the way to a specific ‘in program’ laptop purchase. Although it seems far fewer have a ‘specific’ laptop that they require of students. There are still programs that do not ‘require’ laptop computers as of yet (University of Chicago Graduate School of Business for example) But certainly the laptop in most cases if not required is “highly recommended”. Arizona State University is an example of a school that has a ‘list’ of ‘specifically licensed and configured’ Dell and Toshiba laptop computers that are required purchases for its students. Because there is an endless list of schools that offer MBA programs of all varieties, the first best step would probably be to make a short list of schools your are most likely to consider attending. Then research the computer requirements of these particular programs. You will quickly learn that Apple would not be a good choice. P
