What Grade Would Professor Cole Give For Recycling Internet Rumors?
In throwing together his comparison between Palin and Muslim fundamentalists, Professor Cole appears to have scraped up every internet rumor about Palin he could find. How unfortunate for him that his article should appear on the very day that Newsweek published its own fact-checked demolishing of these same rumors. (See “Sliming Palin” on the Newsweek site). I wonder: what grade would Professor Cole give a paper that, based on Internet rumors, claimed that Barack Obama was a secret Muslim? I’m guessing he’d fail it. Note the wise: professors moonlighting as general commentators almost always make asses of themselves.
