What grade should children leave primary school with very unsure of the grading in the uk?
As some of the previous answers suggest, Level 4 is the average level of attainment for pupils leaving primary school. Each Level of attainment is broken down as follows: a top of level, nearly in next level b firmly in level c only just reached the level-needs to fulfill more criteria. So if your child got Level 4a in English for example, they have fulfilled all the criteria for that level and are on target to reach Level 5. If she or he got a Level 4c in Math, they need to fulfill more criteria to firmly attain that Level. When your child begins secondary school they will probably undergo more testing in maths, English and science since most secondary school teachers like to ‘see for themselves’ where children are at! Also, he or she will probably sit a CAT (congnitive ability test) which is a bit like and IQ test. This will give them a basic IQ score. All these test results are then used by the school to predict future grades and set targets. I’m a teacher and I can tell you all thi
