What grade point average (GPA) do I need to transfer to a four-year college or university?
Generally a 2.5 GPA or higher is preferable. Competitive programs such as accounting, business administration, computer science, education, and engineering may require a 3.0 or higher. It is advisable to strive for the highest GPA you can attain. Enrollment is up at most four year institutions and the more competitive your GPA the more likely you will be accepted. Most colleges require a minimum 2.0 GPA or a “C” average for transfer.
