NMEA input is accepted at either the front panel data jack (which can also provide power for a 5-volt GPS receiver) or the rear panel data connector. Additionally, Garmin GPS receivers set to Garmin protocol mode may be connected to the rear panel data connector. A null modem adapter is required to connect a GPS receiver to the rear panel data connector unless a custom GPS cable is used.
