What good does the tube strike do?
The best thing to come out of the latest of Dinosaur Crow’s latest stunt is to turn the general public even more against him and his outdated, out of touch left wing cronies. The fact that so few RMT members even bothered to vote, and only a few RMT drivers went on strike indicates that the tide is slowly turning. As for an earlier answer about the poor, hard done by drivers having to take annual leave on Christmas day – that is factually incorrect. They get 29 days per year annual leave plus the eight statutory Bank Holidays (of which Christmas day is one) so in all they get 37 paid days off per year. Yes, they work unsocial hours but they are highly paid for this. And it isn’t as if early and late starts/finishes are suddenly thrown at them, they know what the job entails before they sign their contract of employment.
