WHAT GOOD DOES IT DO TO MAINTAIN THE “GREEN ZONE” WHEN THERE IS SO MUCH HERBICIDAL SPRAYING GOING ON ALMOST EVERYWHERE IN THE COUNTY?
Although the bike path is a relatively small area it is one of the most frequently used and most widely enjoyed assets of our community. Maintaining the bike path as a herbicide-free and weed-free “green zone” will require a fair amount of work as weeds there are densely populated This effort will not only be a symbolic reflection of our community health consciousness but also express our appreciation of and concern for the environment. This project also serves to educate our community and increase the awareness of the noxious weed/herbicide problem that currently exists in every bioregion in every county in Idaho and through out much of the US and Canada. The knowledge and weed control methods we learn will be applicable where ever we find ourselves enjoying the out-of-doors. .
