What goes into the Culture Feast assignments?
We will be studying the Pligrims and colonists who came to America looking for a better life and more freedom. We will also study the waves of immigration that fill American history. In order to celebrate our individual cultures and the cultures of others, we are having a Culture Feast. In order to prepare for the feast, you need to do some research either through books, online or by asking family members. Here are some things you need to do: • Find the meaning of your first name. Why were you named that name? • Find out the meaning of your last name or the last name of one of your grandparents. What language is it? What does it mean? You may even be able to find a family crest. • Create a personal crest showing you now, things you like and what you want to be in the future. • Ask people in your family what country their ancestors came from.
