What gives the Roman Catholic Church any more claim to the title “The Church Jesus founded” than the ?
The Eastern Orthodox do have a legitimate claim to belong to the church Jesus founded. The Anglicans do not. For the first thousand years of Christianity, the Orthodox followed the same leadership and promulgated the same doctrines as Rome. To this day, there is little to separate Orthodoxy from Rome, supporting their joint ties to the original church, as confirmed by their common history. The Anglican split is shameful. King Henry VIII withdrew England from the church in order to divorce his wives, two of whom he had beheaded. This was not a split over doctrine or leadership, but a rejection of the moral authority of the church. Recently, Anglicans have taken private morality one step further by promoting abortion and homosexuality. Their organization is in schism over this apostacy.
