What gives my dad the right to view what websites i go on and blocks it?
As a dad myself, I can understand what he is trying to do. I m guessing that you are a girl between the ages of 12 and 16 and he keeps reading about girls running away from home to be with someone they met online who is pretending to be 17 yrs old and a big fan of “Twilight” but is in reality a fat sweaty 43 yr old paedophile, And he is right to be concerned, because there are creeps out there. What you have to do is negotiate with your dad. He needs to know that he can trust you and that you will not going to any websites that are not suitable. Show him the sort of videos that you like to watch on YouTube. You have got to play your part as well by showing him that he can trust you. He’s your Dad and he is trying to protect you. People may suggest ways of getting round his blocks but if he then catches you doing this, it will make the situation even worse and he may ban you from using the internet altogether.
